Revati is the last mansion before the zodiac begins again at Ashwini. Pushan, who in the hymns finds the lost cattle and the lost road, is the deity. Safe arrival is the human hope attached to that. A family waiting for someone on a train will not claim the star brought them. They may still glance at the panchang while they wait. Both can be true.

It is regarded as a soft star, suitable for travel's end, for nourishment, for ceremonies that should not be harsh. Soft is a tradition of use. The Moon does not become kinder because of the name.

When the year of nakshatras is taught as a circle, Revati is where the teacher pauses before starting again. A circle is a good image. A ladder of fates is a bad one. We teach the circle.
