आर्द्रा, तूफ़ान वाला नक्षत्र

Ardra is the moist one. The deity named in the standard nakshatra table is Rudra. Families in the south know the day as Tiruvathirai or Arudra, and some of them fast and keep a vigil when the month and the star coincide. That festival observance is not the same thing as the Moon merely passing the mansion on an ordinary week.

For a muhurtham, Ardra is usually set aside for marriage and for griha pravesham. The reason given in the oral tradition is the storm: something is being broken open. A day for ending a tenancy, for a hard conversation, for repairs after damage, is a different matter, and many pandits will not forbid it.
